Statement on Sobriety, Studiousness, and Respect:
The nature of the innovative month courses and the semesters abroad to India, Nepal, and Tibet offered by Dr. Sean Cridland of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science at Fort Lewis College allow for and encourage the best possible learning experiences in a part of the world that most people can only dream of and only a few actually live to experience. Therefore Dr. Cridland expects all participating students to conduct themselves as if they are privileged and truly appreciate their opportunities. This entails maintaining a demeanor of sobriety, studiousness, and intellectual curiosity, as well as the utmost respect for the cultures and people we will be traveling among and with. It also means that all assignments are expected to be completed fully and on time. Dr. Cridland maintains the right to cancel anyone's participation if the spirit of sobriety, studiousness, and respect are not maintained.
Please note: application to any of the programs does not imply acceptance. Admission into the program is at the sole descretion of Dr. Cridland and Fort Lewis College.
